In Daryl Qilin Yam’s Lovelier, Lonelier, a time-hopping and genre-defying novel, the passing of the Great Comet of 1996 sets in motion a series of inexplicable events in Kyoto, changing the lives of four friends forever. Join us for the NYC launch of the American edition of the novel, published by Gaudy Boy. The launch event begins with a potluck and an open mic.

Daryl Qilin Yam is a writer, editor and arts organizer from Singapore. He is the author of the novella Shantih Shantih Shantih, shortlisted for the 2022 Singapore Literature Prize, and the novel Lovelier, Lonelier, which was longlisted for the 2023 International Dublin Literary Award. His first novel Kappa Quartet was selected by The Business Times as one of the best novels of the year.

Jee Leong Koh is the publisher of Gaudy Boy, an imprint of the NYC-based transnational literary organization Singapore Unbound. His hybrid work of fiction Snow at 5 PM: Translations of an insignificant Japanese poet won the 2022 Singapore Literature Prize, and his poetry collection Steep Tea was named a Best Book of the Year by the Financial Times and a Finalist by Lambda Literary.
