On July 11, catch Tara Menon, author of the novel Under Water, in the second rendition of Second Saturdays Boston! Tara will read from her debut novel Under Water— lauded by BBC Culture as one of the most exciting books to look forward to in 2026—amidst a cozy setting of good food, engaging conversation, and lively open mic session.
Singapore Unbound’s Second Saturdays Reading Series is famous for its literary and potluck offerings in private homes across New York City—and it’s entirely free!
Our gathering will begin with a potluck, followed by a short open mic and then the featured author.

About the Author:
Tara Menon is Associate Professor in the Department of English at Harvard University. She was born in India, grew up in Singapore, spent a decade in New York, and now works in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her debut novel, Under Water, is published by Summit in the UK and Riverhead in the US. Rights have also sold in 34 other languages. Her essays and reviews have appeared in publications including The New York Times Book Review, The Nation, The Sewanee Review,The Paris Review, and Public Books, where she co-edits the Literary Fiction section.
