February Second Saturdays

Featured Author: TW Lim, with Shuan Sim
Venue: Private home in Gramercy Park, NY, NY
All are welcome. RSVP Jee at jkoh@singaporeunbound.org for directions

Meet the author of Little Perfections: Eating in Singapore, TW Lim! “Tse Wei’s remarkable Little Perfections centers on Singapore and its fading heritage of family and hawker traditions, but it’s informed by the broad experience and thought of a well-traveled expat who has cooked and run restaurants in the US and crunched data on African agriculture. Lim’s voice is as personal as his perspective, precise and unpredictable, by turns analytic and playful and sensuous, sharp and sympathetic – even in the handful of intriguing recipes”—Harold McGee.

Our gathering begins with a potluck, followed by a short open mic and then the featured author. Shuan Sim engages TW Lim in a conversation about his book and Singapore food.

TW Lim writes about food and value. He and his wife ran restaurants in Boston from 2010 to 2017. He writes primarily at Let Them Eat Cake, and he’s also written for Vittles and Cook’s Illustrated, among many others. Born and raised in Singapore, he now lives in Cambridge, MA.

Shuan Sim thrives on finding stories in the everyday, and sharing them with an audience. His words are designed to make you pause, learn, and think. Based in New York City, Shuan works in healthcare communications and has his roots in journalism.
